Xrock Autobreaker is the world’s first autonomous rock-breaking system, integrated into the Xrock Automation platform. It delivers end-to-end autonomous breaking from identifying oversized material to planning and executing the strike sequence all without any operator at the grizzly.
The process begins with autonomous perception, where advanced camera vision and sensor fusion generate a real-time understanding of the ore mass for accurate boulder recognition. Building on this awareness, the system performs autonomous planning, selecting strike points, optimizing the breaking sequence, and adjusting the plan automatically as material conditions change.
This leads into autonomous execution, where self-directed boom movements, intelligent motion control and continuous real-time adaptation ensure efficient breaking with consistent accuracy throughout the entire cycle.
All activity is supervised remotely, enabling operators to monitor the full process from the safety of a control room. This improves safety and allows personnel to be allocated more effectively across operations. The Autobreaker is also compatible with Xquick, supporting automated, remotely managed tool changes so operators can switch between breaker, grapple or magnet without needing to be onsite.
